Jessica, a developer for the Zune Social, reports that one of the most brought up questions at Zune is if they should allow the feature to remove your plays or not. Someone people are very self-conscious about what people see on their Zune Cards and don't want others to know that they listen to Ashley Tisdale or any other Disney bubble gum pop group. She adds a great point, saying: I think it’s just fine that you know I play some cheesy stuff – but what happens when I’m trying something new out and I don’t like it? I want to be able to test music before I add it to my identity. I used to be able to do that with my Zune Pass by streaming it from the Marketplace, but in the Spring release we started counting streamed plays. (And frankly, the benefit of that to me – that I can stream from anywhere, without having to download content and use up one of my three machines for my Zune Pass – outweighs the negative of not being able to “test” music out.) So are you a Yes person? Should people be allowed to take off that track of Britney Spears? Or are you a No person who thinks Zune Cards should portray your true identity? Make sure to showcase your thoughts at ZuneInsider.com. And also make sure to talk about it in our designated thread: Which you can find here.

Yes I know, the news about a ZunePhone is more shaky than a celebrity marriage (hopefully the right analogy), or MicroHoo!, but there's more news and this is something you might want to hear, especially if you are the biggest Zune activist out there (*cough*Teccom747*cough*)! ITPro UK is reporting that "sources close to the situation have confirmed that just such a device is in the works, which is great news as it would easily provide respectable competition to Apple’s iPhone." Apparently the underlying and back-end of the phone would be a Windows Mobile code but the front-end would be all Zune and maybe even sync with the Zune software. The source also says that Microsoft will use its aquisition of Danger (the makers of the T-Mobile Sidekick OS which uses Windows CE) will play a huge role in this "new" market for them. The Danger team also designed and implemented an over-the-air delivery system for third-party applications, much like Apple’s App Store, which could be implemented alongside the Zune content store, which also supports over-the-air content delivery of music and video.
Microsoft also has a lot of content, for this over-the-air system, usually for the Xbox but it still has it. So it's got the goods but will it succeed if ever made? And...will it lag!? I think that's the real question. All in all, we're very excited! Source.

Zunited's Semi-Annual Event is going on this Saturday from 10am PST/1pm EST until 8pm PST/11pm EST and you're not going to want to miss it. It's been six months since Zunited came into existence, and there have been many changes. From servers to names (remember Zune-Talk.com?) to even moderators and other staff. We've expanded with a main site, new themes, and are now peaking 400 members, and somehow have more page views than many other sites. To honor that, we are having a Semi-Annual Event Celebration all day Saturday, with 8 prizes to give out. We'll be handing out a custom case made by Mangodroplet, two custom forum titles, a chance to have a spot on the Zunited Podcast - the number one Zune podcast, a custom forum rank, a $25 Marketplace card (with a very interesting way to win), a pair of Zune premium earphones valued at $40, and a secret prize of $50+! We'll also have a new theme just for the day, the release of Zunited's secret project: Project /one, a scavenger hunt (the hunt for the card), the announcement for the Best Member of '08, and of course we'll have some graphic goodies to remember the day: like wallpapers. So remember, Saturday July 12th, 2008, Zunited.net is the place to be all day and all night! Learn more and enter to win here!
